KubeCon + CloudNativeCon

BY 01 Staff (not verified) ON Nov 29, 2017

KubeCon + CloudNativeCon is less than a week out, and Intel is looking forward to talking with the community and sharing some of the exciting things we’re working on. Here are a few ways you can connect with us in Austin:

Imad Sousou, Intel Vice President and General Manager of the Open Source Technology Center, will give a keynote on Wednesday, December 6, at 9:50 a.m. You won’t want to miss the latest news about the Intel® Clear Containers project. That will be followed by Samuel Ortiz’s session with HyperHQ, which will provide much more technical depth on hypervisor-based, OCI-compatible runtimes.

On Thursday, December 7, at 3:50 p.m., Intel software engineers Kuralamudhan Ramakrishnan and Ivan Coughlan will lead a hands-on lab, where you can learn about Intel’s Container Bare Metal Experience Kits for Networking. This session will focus on new capabilities introduced by Intel, and Kubernetes features you can incorporate when developing NFV use cases for bare-metal container deployments. If you are using the latest hardware but feel that your application is not aware of the hardware’s features, or unable to leverage them, then this session is for you! Registered attendees will receive an Intel USB stick with information on Kubernetes NFV features, so do sign up early.

Be sure to stop by booth #D3 in the Sponsor Showcase, where you can talk with Intel experts and learn about new products and hardware. Wondering what disaggregated servers mean for containers? We’ll be showing how Intel® Rack Scale Design can be used for better resource utilization when scaling a CAAS cluster, and how Intel® Xeon® processors with integrated FPGAs can further accelerate workloads. We’ll be demonstrating Intel® Clear Containers, an alternate runtime secured by a lightweight virtual machine. You can also get a closer look at the Container Bare Metal Experience Kits for Networking.

Intel is proud to sponsor the FD.io project. Pre-register online to attend the mini-summit on December 5, and stop by the FD.io booth #S30 to learn about Cloud Native Container Networking with Terabit Performance.

We look forward to seeing you in Austin!
