places though. I'm not really sure why it's coming up blank after install when the live CD works
fine.
I would point out that "Kernel driver in use" implies "Kernel Module": The former means
"We are actually using this module", the latter "We think we could use this module"
You will be able to see the various options you can start the i915 module with by issuing
a "modinfo i915" command - perhaps one of those will do what you need.

Ran the Live CD of Linux Mint 16(MATE) everything worked fine.
$ sudo lspci -k gave:
