I have installed Intel Graphics for Linux using the installer on Ubuntu 15.10 but from time to time I have video playback issues that sometimes even freezes my computer that forces me to hard reboot.
Do I have to install the 2015Q4 Intel Graphics Stack too?
Version 1.2.1 delivered the 2015Q3 (third quarter, if you haven't bumped into the terminology before) graphics stack. Since Ubuntu 15.10 already had a recent enough kernel for the 2015Q3 stack, v 1.2.1 of the installer didn't update it: So the installer won't have made any difference to that part of the stack. 2015Q4 includes a more recent kernel, and the next release of the installer (which is currently undergoing QA) will deliver that.
As to the lock up issues - hard to say without knowing more. What (video format) are you playing? At what resolution? On what hardware? And with what media player software?
