    I actually have a question regarding this version of the driver. 

    I'm having trouble installing it under Linux Mint 17.2 'Rafaela' Cinnamon x64. 

    I know that it's not officially supporting this distro. 

    My laptop config: 

    Dell inspiron N5030
    Intel GMA 4500MHD
    Linux Mint 17.2 'Rafaela' Cinnamon x64
    Intel Graphics Installer 1.2.0
     
    I have fixed the GPG keys and have bypassed the distro codename verification. 
     
    Nevertheless I'm getting this: ____libegl1-mesa: Depends: libgl1-mesa-dri (=10.6.0-~intel1) but 10.1.3-0ubuntu0.4 is to be installed____
     
    I have tried every single guide on the forums, but none of them seem to work... Also I couldn't succeed at forcing intel lib over the Synaptic. It doesn't do anything when I pick the proper version... The system is clean install and is up-to-date. 
     
    Please assist...

    Hi - Mint 17.x is based on the 14.04 LTS release - thanks to the rate at which the Intel stack changes, and the age of the LTS release, you'll have much better luck installing the LTS point release packs (the sets of *-lts-<codename> packages - *-lts-vivid at the moment) for the kernel, mesa and X server. I believe you can do this by performing an apt-get dist-upgrade on your system. Doing this will get you either all or almost all the updates that the installer would have provided (or in some cases even newer versions) and without the compatibility hassles that result from Mint not being a directly supported system for the installer.

    If I had to guess I'd say the dependency tracker is getting confused by an :i386 vs :amd64 package.

    Things to check:

    What does apt-cache policy <packagename> say about libgl1-mesa-dri, libgl1-mesa-dri:i386 and libgl1-mesa-dri:amd64?

    What does apt-get -f install say?

    If you explicitly add libgl1-mesa-dri to the apt command line, does that help?

    I have a problem when trying to install this driver. I am new to Linux and there is a strong possibility I am doing something wrong. Please help.

    1. I start Ubuntu 15.04 form LiveUSB.

    2. After that I use the commands descripted on 01.org webpage:

    wget --no-check-certificate https://download.01.org/gfx/RPM-GPG-KEY-ilg -O - | \
    sudo apt-key add -

    and

    wget --no-check-certificate https://download.01.org/gfx/RPM-GPG-KEY-ilg-2 -O - | \
    sudo apt-key add -

     

    Then I download Graphics Installer 1.2.0 for Ubuntu* 15.04, 64-bit and open it in Ubuntu software Center.

    It will not let me install it. Is says: Dependency is not satisfiable: ttf-ancient-fonts

    I can-t find out how to go further from this point.

    We are seeing the same problem as Mele when attempting to install Intel® Graphics Installer 1.2.0 for Linux on Ubuntu 15.04:

     

    --- terminal output start ---

     

    $ sudo apt-get install ttf-ancient-fonts


    Reading package lists... Done
    Building dependency tree       
    Reading state information... Done
    Package ttf-ancient-fonts is not available, but is referred to by another package.
    This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
    is only available from another source
    However the following packages replace it:
      ttf-ancient-fonts-symbola

    E: Package 'ttf-ancient-fonts' has no installation candidate

    When using the intel-linux-graphics-installer install method descibed in http://sourcedigit.com/17202-install-intel-graphics-installer-1-2-0-on-l... and running "intel-linux-graphics-installer" from the terminal, intel-linux-graphics-installer would run but throw an error pertaining to the "ttf-ancient-fonts" problem.

     

    Is it possible that the replacement package "ttf-ancient-fonts-symbola" needs to be added to the intel-linux-graphics-installer codebase since "ttf-ancient-fonts" is no longer available?

     

    Alternatively, can "ttf-ancient-fonts" be installed by some other method?

     

    Has anyone found a solution for this problem for Ubuntu 15.04?

    I'm not sure if the instructions mention enabling universe - I'll have to check (and add it to the instructions if they don't).

    There is no valid public key for this release for Ubuntu. apt-get update results in this error:

     

    GPG error: https://download.01.org wily InRelease: The following signatures couldn't be verified because the public key is not available: NO_PUBKEY D14BDB0DB3438B6C
     
    There are no appropirate keys available under https://download.01.org/gfx/.
     
    Please remedy this. It's as simple as publishing the key.  You could even post it here so we could add it manually.

    I'm told the key should be here: https://download.01.org/gfx/RPM-GPG-KEY-ilg-3
    And it does seem to be mentioned in the release notes here: https://01.org/linuxgraphics/downloads/intel-graphics-installer-linux-1.4.0

    Is there somewhere that mentions the old keys but not the new one?

    My Skylake 530 Fedora 23 out-of-box install seems to be working OK - it is using the i915 driver built into the kernel 4.3.5 and X11 is using xorg-x11-drv-intel-2.99.917-16.20150729.fc23.x86_64 from the repo.

    Would the 'Graphics Installer for Linux' install other things to complement these, replace these, or update them?

    I would of course like any performance enhancements to my 1440p composited desktop but don't want to risk breaking it.
