Ubuntu 17.10 is a very current release so we won't be releasing a Q3 17 Update Tool for it.

It seems incredible there is no support for the current Ubuntu distribution.
On my HP zbook, te intel-microcontroller is no more working and I have to stay one year without it or go back to 17.04 ?
Really funny....

Actually the driver works perfectly on 17.10, and you can force the update tool to install it with this method: https://askubuntu.com/a/982421

It's a quite stupid answer. You have always provided support for odd.10 versions of Ubuntu.
You should provide 17.10 update as well.

Hello Puargs, as Paul commented before, we don't have any news on 17.10 support so far.

17.04 is an obsolete and unsupported version of Ubuntu.
Building the tool from source fails, because there are multiple packages referenced that are not found.
Why is it that Intel can build good chips, but fails so hard at the supporting software? The software is just as important as the chips. Neither works without the other.

Since 17.04 is not and LTS distro, Ubuntu is not having support for it anymore, as a matter of fact they decide to shutdown support since January 2018, please refer to https://www.ubuntu.com/info/release-end-of-life
Will there be 17.10 support?
