THIS PROJECT IS CURRENTLY ARCHIVED, AND IS NO LONGER SUPPORTED
This Project Provides: Pre-kernel module OS & VMM verification source code
The Value of the Enterprise Security Infrastructure Project
One element of the secure enterprise is virtual machine monitors and their guest OSs. Intel provides hardware-based security features and it also supports various open source projects which unlock them such as Trusted Boot (t-boot). Trusted Boot is an open source, pre-kernel or pre-VMM module that uses Intel® Trusted Execution Technology (Intel® TXT) to perform a measured and verified launch of an OS kernel or VMM.
Who It’s For
Trusted Boot is utilized by hypervisor and other virtualization software solution vendors, as well as operating system vendors and system developers.
Trusted Boot is an active open source project with a significant following, distributed under the BSD open source license. It’s an established codebase written largely in C.
About Intel Involvement
Intel is firmly committed to the Trusted Boot project, important to the software availability of Intel VT and Intel® TXT technologies that are part of Intel® Xeon® processors and Intel® Xeon Phi processors. This project provides open source code for virtualization solution projects Xen, KVM and vendors and the vendors that productize them such as Citrix and Red Hat.
