This Project Provides: Wireless hardware API source code.
The Value of the Intel Wireless for Linux* Project
This project provides an API allowing system and other developers to easily access Intel hardware wireless capabilities written into the Linux kernel. Intel's wireless project enables Linux kernels 2.6.24 and up, eliminating the need for a special driver for those versions. Through the Linux kernel, this work finds its way into distributions including Chrome*, Ubuntu*, Fedora*, Debian, GNOME and others as well.
Who It’s For
This project is for system developers creating wireless capabilities who are working on Intel-based systems, including mobile, tablet, desktop, clamshell and in-vehicle services.
This is a large, established project written in the C programming language and distributed under the LGPL 2.0 license.
About Intel Involvement
Intel is a leading contributor to this project, providing Intel platform capabilities to the Linux ecosystem using Intel® Quark™ processor, Intel® Atom™ processors and the Intel® Core™ processors.
