Is Intel® Graphics for Linux* an alternative to MediaSDK to use Quick Sync Video on ffmpeg ?
I am looking a way to use Quick Sync Video on Linux. Install Intel Media Server Studio requieres use Centos 7.1 or use a specific Kernel version. So if I install Intel Graphics for Linux, Could I use Quick Sync Video on ffmpeg ? Have I the libraries needed to compile libmfx ?
I want to install on a Linux headless installation, without X server running.
Sorry for this noob question.
better question does ffmpeg with vaapi encoding exist?
Finally I found more info. So I could patch a Kernel 4.0.9 (needed to gain access to Quick Sync Video) and compile the libdrm and libva sources included for generic Linux on Media Server Studio 2015 R6 with drm support only. So I could use ffmpeg and tvheadend with QSV support on a headless instalation. And works great !!!
MSS 2015 R6 come with patchs for 3.x kernel and works great also.
