  • Hi,

I'm running Linux Mint Sarah and would like to use the 2.0.2 version of the installer. However it fails with "Distribution not supported". Looking at the source code and the debug output, Linux Mint should be supported, but it seems that the config file at https://download.01.org/gfx/ilg-config.cfg lacks an entry for Linux Mint. I guess this is a bug (as the source code otherwise seems to cover the possibility to run on Linux Mint), but for lack of a better place to report this I'm posting it here. Any help or hints are greatly appreciated, in case I'm missing something obvious here.

    Cheers

  • Same result here when I tried to install the 2.02 on Linux Mint Sarah (Mint 18 KDE).

  • We don't test on Mint, so no promises that everything will work, but if you absolutely want to try it you can temporarily drop in an lsb_release script which gives the same output as lsb_release -a on ubuntu: This will fool the installer into thinking it's on Ubuntu. To be honest with you though you're better off installing a newer kernel from backports and/or installing the relevant ubuntu hardware enablement packs when they come out (I believe Mint is based on an LTS release) - that should get you all or most of what the installer gets you but via a much better tested path.
