Hello I have been having problems with my pc using the Zorin OS 10 64-bit installed, derivated from ubuntu 15.04 (also version 9 based on ubntu 14.04). After spending some time, viewing videos on youtube or any other website or editing text files the computer freezes so that the only thing to do is turn it off or press the reset button (Windows-style).
I installed the intel-graphic-installer for linux and received the message distribution not supported, I changed the lsb-release and installed the driver, but it does not work, either. I did a fresh install again...
Also, I reviewed various logs (syslog, auth.log, dpkg.log, Xorg.0.log) and can not find a clue that allows me to visualize what may be the error.
My computer have the following configuration:
Memory: 4 Gb
Processor: Intel Core i3-3240 CPU @ 3.40GHz x 4
Graphics: Intel Desktop ivybridge
OS Type: 64-bit kernel 3.19.0-31-generic
Disk: 160 Gb
Monitorr: Dell Monitor 22 in.
I have some off the /var/log directory files after last crash on crash 10/23/2015 18:57, also files from commads lshw, lsmod, lspcikvnn, modinfo i915. How can I send to you?
I wonder how you can help solve this annoying situation.
Thanks in advance for your help...
You should be able to send those files to me directly by email via this forum - I can't guarantee I'll be able to make things work since we didn't develop or test any of this on the Ubuntu variant in question, but I can take a look.
Thanks for revieweing my post...
The principal problem that I have with the computer is that it crashed when I am using the web browsers., also when I woking with graphics software (gimp, image viewer, etc.), some times it crash when I am using a gedit to edit a text file...
I could not find your email or a email where to send it. I just created a onedrive shared link for you to download the error_graphic_card.tar.gz, that is:
Hope you can see it and have an idea of what going on...
Got it. I'm a bit swamped right now but I'll have a look as soon as I have a spare moment.
