  • I'm running Linux Deepin, which is a (fringy) distro based on Ubuntu 14.04. I tried running the installer but it complained it was an unsupported distro.

Now Deepin is basically Ubuntu with and HTML5 UI and some other (rather small) changes. Now, I'm not asking for a special version to support it (that might be a bit much), but since everything for Ubuntu installs normally for Deepin just as well, I would like to try running the installer and see what happens then.

Or, in other words, I'm asking is for a "try at your own risk" option. Is that possible?

    Thanks in advanced

Hi - yes, there are ways to do this: You can find the basic outline here:

Those instructions are for mint, but I imagine something similar will work for you
(bearing in mind we haven't tested any of this, the usual disclaimers apply...)
