hum, please, can you tell me how to "remove the i915-4.3.3-4.2.0-dkms package" ?
I've just upraded my Ubuntu to 16.04 on my NUC 5I5RYH and I get the same troubles with audio/video hdmi output:
Sound craqueling and / or slow
A restart seem to fix for few minutes...but it come back quickly
How can I fix That?
Hi - I believe I've answered your question in another thread: https://01.org/comment/2656#comment-2656
Hi - same as any other package: as root:
apt-get remove <name-of-package-here>
Or as a normal user use
sudo apt-get remove <name-of-package-here>
For anyone still having this problem, I fixed it in my Dell XPS 13 (9343) with Ubuntu 16.04, by updating the ALSA driver, as explained here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Audio/UpgradingALSA/DKMS
Sorry, this is the correct link: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Audio/UpgradingAlsa/DKMS
Huh. It's the _sound_ module that causes this? I would not have expected that. Good catch - how did you find this fix, out of interest?
