  • Hello, a customer is testing Ubuntu 13.10  with Intel  i7-3517UE+QM77, using and adapters to get S-Video.

They connect the DisplayPortB to and DP to HDMI adapter and then the HDMI output to and HDMI to S-Video adapter.

When they try this using Ubuntu 12.04 the system works fine, but using Ubuntu 13.10 the system doesn't work. I would like to know if there is any meaningful difference in the Intel Video Drivers between these two distros. Or if you could point to another direction.

I suspect this could be related to the Xorg version, but I'm not sure about it.

Also I would appreciated if someone could point me to some documentation regarding how X.org works with graphic cards drivers. I'm not clear about what functions are responsability of X.org and which fucntion are responsability of 3rd party graphic drivers (Intel, or Nvidia or ATI, etc)

    Any help would be appreciated.

  • Hi - this isn't really an installer question, so I'm going to ask the admins to move the thread over to the advanced forum - hopefully someone there can helpyou out.
