I'm at a loss here. The only reason I tried the latest graphics stack was I hoped it may fixed a bug I'm suffering from. I've reported it already but got no response. And the issue is still present. Perhaps one of savvys here will drop me a bone...
I read through your ticket. It would appear the Red Hat community has already spoken to the mesa developers on your behalf in this instance. I can almost guarantee that patches will be passed your way in order to better understand the cause-- this is critical if others are unable to reproduce the issue locally for whatever reason. If you're comfortable, feel free to chat with the mesa developers on IRC or on the mailing list (see link).
I'd really like to step on it because I've noticed the same behavior on Fedora 20. But the IRC channel is always empty. No one has contacted me via the bugzilla bug report either.
Recently I've confirmed the following using live media of Fedora, without updating:
18 - smooth
19 - not smooth
20 - not smooth
I've been sick for the past two weeks. I tried contacting anyone at the IRC channel (#firstname.lastname@example.org) and no one seems to be there at all, even though I tried at various times of day. I tried for few days.
It turned out it's unlikely that it's a graphics related bug. More like a bug in Clutter or something in the Gnome Shell compositing
