I'm using Fedora 18 on my HP dm4 notebook. My notebook has a core i5 + AMD Radeon HD 6470M inside. So i have two Graphic cards. I had to install Fedora in Basic graphic mode, because otherwise the screen turned black during installation. After installation I wasn't able to change Resolution to 1366x768, i think it's because there are no graphic driver installed.
1. I made a hole system update hoping this would solve the problem (after updating the system i wasn't still able to change the screen resolution).
2. I found this page and did all the steps written in the introductions for installing Intel Linux Graphics Installer (everything went fine, no errors no issues). After reboot i went to my system settings but i wasn't able to change the resolution.
3. I tried to install the driver for my ati graphic card using this guide: http://wiki.cchtml.com/index.php/Fedora_18_Installation_Guide but i think one of the last steps went wrong because my system doesn't start anymore (i think there are any kernel issues).
So my question: Does anybody have an idea how i can solve my problem? I heard, that there is te possibility to switch one of the graphic cards off. I would be ok just using the intel, because i just need to do some programming and office stuff.
Just a quick note that I'm moving this thread to the Graphics Power Users' forum. More in a bit.
