  • Hello everyone,

I just updated my debian jessie with the stack as described in the download section.

I set the kernel boot parameters with i915.preliminary_hw_support=1.

With that, i obtain the GPU function and effects on my desktop (Xorg does not complain that AIGLX and dri2 initialized problem). All seems ok, but randomly my system freezes and no mouse, no keyboard input are available.

I can't use Magic Systrq to obtain trace or crash with kdump, no messages in /var/log/messages or dmesg.

No coredump of Xorg processes, and it is impossible to switch to virtual console with Ctrl+Alt+Fx, because no reaction when typing something. The hard reboot is required.

The only things that it seems different with the stack that i use mesa 10.6.9 instead of 10.6.8

    System info : Core i5 6200U

    Kernel : Linux 4.2.0-1-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 4.2.3-2 (2015-10-14) x86_64 GNU/Linux

    Mesa : 10.6.9

    xserver-xorg-video-intel : 2.99.917

    libdrm : 2.4.64

    libva : 1.6.1

    i965-va-driver : 1.6.1

    libcairo2 : 1.14.2

    xserver-xorg-core : 1.17.2

    intel-gpu-tools : 1.12

Thanks a lot to help me to obtain more trace or stacktrace to file a bug report....

  • Hi,

    I had similar problem.

The only solution which I found it is not use i915.preliminary_hw_support=1

    And legacy boot, without uefi

    You can try
