I just got a DELL XPS 15 9560 and i want to be able to use Keras with the GTX 1050. First, I want to be up to date with NVIDIA drivers for Ubuntu.
So, I started looking for them and I found the Update Tool, which will ease the update process (hopefully).
My question is: where do i find instructions for compiling the update tool manually, for Ubuntu 17.04 ?
If there are no written instructions, can someone please guide me through the whole process please ?
Thanks in advance!
I'm also interested in this. Daniel let us know if you find any info on this! Cheers
The next release of the update tool is being prepared, and should go to testing in a couple of weeks.
I should point out a couple of things here:
- There's no point in just building the update tool - you need the actual backported packages to go with it.
- This update for Ubuntu 17.04 will be quite small, since the distro released shortly after the 01.org stack
was announced - just VAAPI video acceleration and cairo (2D userspace graphics library) will be included
(since everything else is already up to date).
Can you inform us here when the update had been released? :-)
It'll be announced on the site, but sure, can do.
Thanks! Keep us up to date! it will be easier to find out, since we receive an email notification!
I already updated to kernel 18.104.22.168-generic on 16.04 by installing the hwe-edge headers and images.
Migrating to 17.04 should be easy, I guess. Tell me if I'm wrong, though, please!
has there been any update on this?
also looking forward for the update.
+1 also looking forward to the update :) So great that Intel supports Linux. Thanyou Intel.
No news yet, unless someone did a stealth release. Should be soon though, depending on whether any bugs came up in testing.
Any word as of yet?
