Hello madvinegar,
Yes, we have had a few threads here on the forums about difficulties users have been having with our Installer and Ubuntu* 12.04.2. In light of those reports, we have done an analysis, and made a decision.
I will be making a formal announcement later today communicating our decision not to support the Installer on the Ubuntu 12.04 release. This is the "short version." I will go into more detail in the announcement.
If one wants to have the best experience with their Intel(R) graphics, we highly recommend moving to the latest Installer-supported Ubuntu release, currently 13.04.
Cheers
On a Dell inspiron n411z with ubuntu 12.04.2 (kernel 3.5), I installed and run the Intel installer, everything went fine but after restart I lost the functinality of my touchpad.
I had to re-install 12.04.2 to get it working again.
I have seen on the net that some other people have suffered the same problem.
Is there any fix for that?
Thanx.
