There is currently no builds for Ubuntu 16.10
Is there going to be releases for #.10 versions or only the LTS versions?
+1, i would be also interested.
Is anybody already working on that or does it make sense to start to work on this myself?
The 16.10 release is currently being tested. I should note that the 16.10 graphics stack is already mostly up to date, so really only cairo (2D grpahics userspace library) and VAAPI drivers (hardware assisted video playback acceleration) will be added to 16.10 this time around.
+1, waiting for the drivers

The black flickering on a Skylake machine got solved with the following Ubuntu kernel:
Linux 4.8.0-28-generic #30-Ubuntu SMP Fri Nov 11 14:03:52 UTC 2016 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
After that no-black flickering.
