Hm- that all sounds quite messy - I suspect this is not installer related so I'm going to ask the guys who take care of the advanced forum to take a look at your problem.
Meanwhile, can you grab the output of lspci -vvnn and add it here? Thanks.

I had blank screen issue before I tried to install 1.0.7
After installing 1.0.7 my system won´t boot at all and is stuck. Rebooting and setting ¨nomodeset¨ allows me to have functional PC again. Any help is much appreciated:
Display/graphics were working fine in Windows Vista but NO GO (except for VESA) under Linux Mint
I also opened a topic on MInt forum for this.

Desktop with MS-7744 Medion motherboard, Intel 945G graphics
Linux Mint 17 32-bit mode
Live USB was already giving me white screen and needed compatibility mode.
After installation was finished, only blankscreen, needed ¨nomodeset¨ in grub to get display again.
I noticed the following 2 symptoms:.
dmesg:
i915 0000:00:02.0: No connectors reported connected with modes
xrandr didn show anything other then Screen0. No VGA, DVI or whatsoever listed
I have even upgraded kernel to 3.17-rc2 and even 3.18.0.95 (drm-intel-nighly), unfortunately without any suc6
I have spent last weekend trying to solve it, but to no avail.
