I have an MSI GE72 6QF Apache Pro with Ubuntu and Windows 10 on dual boot.

I have Ubuntu 16.10 so i installed intel-graphics-update-tool_2.0.3. At login screen when using intel gpu the laptop completly freezes, when using nvidia (GTX970M driver 370.28) evreything works just fine.

I use Nvidia X Server to switch from intel to nvidia ( prime-select ... )

Any ideas about this issue ?

I'd start by checking if the laptop was completely frozen or it it was "just" the display that was wedged - try sshing in to the laptop if you can, or switching to one of the other virtual consoles.

Hard to say what the exact cause might be, but check the logs (kernel logs and /var/log/Xorg*.log) for any error messages. You might have some luck reporting the problem as an ubuntu bug directly too - possibly someone will have some more info once you've brought it to the distribution's attention.
