  • Hi all, I recently upgraded my ubuntu system from 16.04 to 17.04, but it seemed like the graphics are running very slowly.  I did some research and discovered that my Xorg process is taking about 100% of one core (on a new i7 8770k), so I ran glxinfo and discovered that "direct rendering: Yes" was in it, so it looks like it isn't using an intel graphics driver.  So, I tried installing 2.06, and I got these errors:

     Finished : The following packages have unmet dependencies:

    libosmesa6: Depends: libgcc1 (>= 1:3.4) but 1:6.3.0-12ubuntu2 is to be installed
                Depends: libglapi-mesa (= 17.1.4-1ubuntu1) but 17.2.4-0ubuntu1~16.04.2 is to be installed
                Depends: zlib1g (>= 1:1.1.4) but 1:1.2.11.dfsg-0ubuntu1 is to be installed
      [
    src/main-window.c/on_transaction_finished: Package transaction finished with an error
    transaction_view_start
    Installing packages... : Failed

    Now searching the forums here, I've read that these can be fixed by by adjusting sources.list file entries, but I'm not exactly sure which ones to change or what to change them to.  Anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks for any help!

  • Hello Corey,

    Making a quick analysis on your question, my first though is to use synaptic in order to remove that part and then you can install it, instead of overwriting.
