Hi all, I recently upgraded my ubuntu system from 16.04 to 17.04, but it seemed like the graphics are running very slowly. I did some research and discovered that my Xorg process is taking about 100% of one core (on a new i7 8770k), so I ran glxinfo and discovered that "direct rendering: Yes" was in it, so it looks like it isn't using an intel graphics driver. So, I tried installing 2.06, and I got these errors:
Making a quick analysis on your question, my first though is to use synaptic in order to remove that part and then you can install it, instead of overwriting.
