Intel at the OpenStack Paris Summit

Come join us at the upcoming OpenStack Summit in Paris from Nov. 3-7, 2014, where you can see the latest advances, learn from successful deployments, and firm up your own plans to contribute to the cloud environment. We are excited to see the progress within the ecosystem and will bring the latest Intel has to offer in this area as well. You will see the architectural underpinnings to transform the datacenter infrastructure across Enterprise, Telco and Cloud Service Provider segments, advances in orchestration to enable greater application control, and the opportunities for the community to strengthen OpenStack’s readiness for mainstream production deployment. You will see some of our important customers, like Stefan Lenz of BMW in a morning keynote panel on Mon. Nov. 3. You will be able to listen to him again, along with Patrick Debus-Pesquet of Numergy and Carmine Rimi of Workday, in our own end-user panel on Tue. Nov.4 at 2:50pm, moderated by Paul Miller, the founder of Cloud of Data.

The main keynote will feature a panel including Ruchi Bhargava of Intel IT, who has been deeply involved in implementing OpenStack over the last 4 years. There will be breakout sessions from some of our leading cloud architects and principal engineers like Nigel Cook, Das Kamhout, Dr. Malini Bhandaru, Nick Weaver, Adrian Hoban, Greg Scott, Raghu Yeluri and Dr. Markus Leberecht.

For deeper insight into Intel’s strategy and vision in the areas of Networking, Storage and Telemetry, please attend our half-day breakout track of three sessions on Mon. Nov. 3 from 3:20 to 5:50pm. You will also see us in HP’s “MVP program” breakout track on Tue. Nov. 4 afternoon to drive deep discussion with the core developer community

Other breakout sessions delivered by Intel engineers and architects will be covering topics such as:

·         Improved trust and compliance in virtualized and bare-metal environments

·         Frameworks and enhancements for NFV

·         Policies and erasure codes for Swift

·         Extension of OpenStack into PaaS deployments, and

·         Customer stories on successful deployments.

Some of these sessions are being jointly delivered with important partners like Red Hat and Ericsson. Weaving all these together is a look into Intel’s evolving vision for a Software Defined Infrastructure. We hope to have many developers among you participate in these efforts. If you’ve been attending the Summits over the past year, you’ll notice the show floor has become a hotbed of activity, with vendors jostling with each other to show off their contributions into this vibrant community and their efforts to make OpenStack a popular platform for end users. Intel is showcasing recently-released and upcoming OpenStack capabilities with themes like Intelligent Scheduling, Trust & Compliance, Network Security & Performance, Reduced TCO on Storage, and High Availability.

And let’s not forget that we as a community work hard and play hard! Look out for opportunities to participate in activities on the show floor and win tickets to evening social engagements.
