Intel Builders University

Intel has created a series of Network Builders University courses for Scalable Video Technology (SVT) and the Visual Cloud. These courses are aimed at Visual Cloud ecosystem developers working with media, AI, and graphics technologies to establish enhanced or new cloud services. The Builders University program was created as a resource to accelerate the deployment of virtualized technologies through education. The university includes a broad collection of virtual training to help technical professionals in the network industry to improve their knowledge of key Intel® technologies, industry trends, and technical aspects of NFV deployments.

The visual cloud program is part of the Intel® Network Builders University.

Description: In this course Lynn Comp, Vice President, Data Center Group and General Manager of the Visual Cloud Division at Intel Corporation, provides an overview of the visual cloud market, industry trends and design principles. This course provides an introduction to the four core building blocks of visual cloud and the five key services. Lynn also explains how Intel helps meet the growing demands for visual cloud workloads by enabling hardware and software solutions for video delivery, cloud graphics, and media analytics.
 

Course 2: Scalable Video Technology (SVT):

 

 
Description: This course provides an introduction into the features and architecture of Scalable Video Technology (SVT), SVT encoders, high efficiency video coding (HEVC) and using a Human Visual System (HVS) optimized classifier. This course will also discuss the real-time performance on Intel® Xeon® based processors
 
This course is divided into three chapters.
  • Chapter 1 introduces Scalable Video Technology (SVT) and Intel’s visual cloud growth strategy.
  • Chapter 2 explains the SVT architecture and Human Visual System (HVS) optimized classifier applications.
  • Chapter 3 reviews the SVT density and quality tradeoffs and the benefits of using optimized Intel® Architecture.
