Nightly Builds: Platform Configuration
Hardware Setup
Our benchmarks are executed on dual socket platforms hosting 2 Haswell CPUs (E5-2699-v3) with 18 cores/45MB cache running @ 2.3GHz.
Other configuration details:
- CPU hyper-threading disabled from BIOS for reducing run to run variations
- fixed CPU frequency for reducing run to run variations: 2.3GHz (Turbo disabled from BIOS and CPU frequency fixed at 2.3GHz via cpufreq governor configuration at OS level)
- 800GB Intel SSD DC S3500
- 8x16GB DDR4 2133MHz (all 4 memory channels populated on both sockets)
Software Setup
Linux OS: CentOS 7.1 on 64bits
SELinux disabled mainly for reducing the configuration effort but also for reducing the performance impact of this component: have SELINUX=disabled in /etc/selinux/config
